The processes involved when enabling an eligible car with our car sharing partners, Turo and Getaround
Not all Drover cars are eligible to be used with our car sharing partners, Turo and Getaround. If your subscription is eligible to be used with a car-sharing partner, you will have received an email from us directly. If you're unsure, please chat with us using the blue bubble and we can confirm this for you. Note that using car-sharing platforms without our prior consent will be considered a breach of your subscription agreement with Drover and we may have to ask for the car to be returned.
If you do have an eligible car, then you're welcome to list it for peer-to-peer use on Turo and Getaround. It's important to keep in mind, that if you do so, you will be doing this at your own risk and any damages that happen while the car is with another driver are your responsibility to settle directly with the car-sharing platform. At the end of your subscription, you will still be charged for damages as normal.
If the car is damaged while in a booking with a car-sharing platform:
Please note that you must contact Drover immediately so that we can arrange for the car to be taken to an accredited repair location. It is then your responsibility to pay for the repair of any damages and reclaim this cost directly from the platform you're using. Make sure you clearly follow any reporting timelines provided by the relevant platform.
If a PCN is received while in a booking with a car-sharing platform:
In this case, we will process the PCN as usual and charge you directly for the cost incurred on the PCN as well as our PCN admin fee. It is then your responsibility to contact the car-sharing platform to reclaim the cost of the PCN.
If you are having Getaround Connect installed:
Please note, that if you are having Getaround Connect installed on your Drover car, you're responsible for any damage caused during the installation process. You will also need to make sure that the Getaround Connect box is removed from the car before returning it to Drover or a Drover partner. Please leave ample time to complete this before returning your car to Drover.
